About This Camp
The adventure begins as campers arrive in Ara, a traditional fishing village on the southern coast of Sulawesi. After settling in, we explore the village, meet local fishermen, and get our first taste of the incredible marine environment that awaits.
Day 2, Marine Biodiversity & Snorkeling
Dive into one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on the planet. Led by expert marine biologists, campers snorkel through coral gardens, identify species, and begin their personal marine field journals.
Day 3, Mangrove Exploration & Conservation
Paddle through ancient mangrove forests and learn about their critical role in coastal ecosystems. Campers participate in a hands-on mangrove replanting project.
Day 4, Traditional Fishing & Ocean Culture
Join local fishermen on a dawn fishing expedition using traditional techniques. Learn about sustainable fishing practices and the deep cultural relationship between the Ara community and the sea.
Day 5, Reef Monitoring & Citizen Science
Campers become citizen scientists, conducting real reef health monitoring surveys and contributing data to ongoing conservation research.
Day 6, Island Expedition
A full-day boat trip to neighbouring islands, snorkeling untouched reefs and exploring pristine beaches.
Day 7, Community Project & Cultural Exchange
Campers present their findings to the local community and participate in a traditional cultural exchange evening.
Day 8, Closing Ceremony & Departure
Final reflections, certificate ceremony, and farewell to Ara.
